DAY
197 lbs.

This is the perfect picture to depict the 17th day because it's really a Fall day here and the leaves are falling all over the backyard.  In the past two weeks, I've lost another two pounds bringing me down to
197 lbs.  The last time my weight was this low was in 2005 at my daughter's wedding.  Someone took a picture of me yesterday and I noticed that I didn't look quite as wide as I usually do in pictures.  I'm referring to my shoulders and my upper arms -- I saw a noticeable difference.

Thanksgiving is coming up and it's when my kids come home to celebrate with us.  I haven't seen my daughter in a few months and she has no idea I've lost this much weight.  I'm eager to see if she notices (well of course she will) and what she says.  I've seen my son but he's never commented although his girlfriend has.  It would be great if I could get down to 195 lbs. before then.  That would be terrific.

I haven't really been on any real kind of diet -- I just eat a lot less.  I was a closet eater and would eat mounds of candy when I went upstairs to watch TV every night.  Now I don't even have candy in the house so there's no temptation.  I was thinking the other night that if candy was here, I would eat it non-stop.  So I know that urge isn't gone.  Therefore, I just need to keep myself away from it.

So I'm still on target with losing one pound a week since the past two weeks I've lost two pounds.  My goal weight is 150 lbs.  So at 4 pounds a month, it will take 11.5 months to get there.  That seems like a really long time.  By October of next year, I should make it.  So far this year, I've lost 27 pounds in 10 months -- that's only 2.7 pounds per month.  Not the four pounds I was hoping for but I'm definitely happy with the progress.
