Good Bye Today -- Hello Tomorrow

Do you ever find that you're at your most positive about losing weight when your lying down at night watching TV. That's when I start thinking about all the things I want to do but then the next day comes and I do nothing. I'll think that I'll get up early the next day and perhaps go for a walk before I start doing anything. But that never happens.

I'm excited to begin tomorrow. I hope I feel the same way when I wake up. In the past, however, I've dreaded starting a diet because I knew it meant giving up so many of the things that I love. With the way I intend to do it, I don't feel stressed because if things come up where I can't be on a diet, so be it.....it doesn't matter.

For instance, this week I'm going into the city to see the play Billy Elliot. We'll also be eating at Joe Allen's restaurant. I'm not even concerned about it because going out to dinner one night this week is really not going to affect anything. I'm only looking to lose one pound a week....not three or four. Believe me, if the week comes where I lose more than one pound, no one will be happier than me but I'm not going to make myself crazy trying to lose more than a pound. Now if a week goes by and I don't lose a pound, then I'm going to be very upset.

But let's face it, if I add some good things to my lifestyle like exercising and cutting out some things, the bottom line is that I will have to lose weight.
