WEEK 2 -- DAY 12 -- Olive Garden + Movies = No Problem

Any other time, on any other diet, today would have been a problem. As a matter of fact, it would have been such a problem that I probably would have stayed home. But since my "plan" is very different, I can basically do anything I want and eat anything I want. As a result, I was able to go out to dinner and to the movies and feel no guilt. What makes it especially easy is the fact that I'm only weighing myself once a week so, even if my going out added a pound or so, I'm not even aware of it. All I care about is when I get on the scale on Monday....not what I weigh today. As long as I've lost a pound on Monday (only 1 pound), I'm happy and I'm on target.

So today I was able to enjoy some salad, some chicken parm and some fettucine. And did I ever enjoy it!!!! I also shared some dessert (zeppole) which was unbelievably delicious. All of this probably sounds so decadent for someone who's supposed to be on a diet. And it would be....if I was actually on a diet -- which I'm not. Even though I ate these things, I still followed some of the rules I've learned in the past two weeks. I only ate 3/4 of the piece of chicken and half of a side order of fettucine. And, more importantly, I only ate two of the zeppole and we left most of them uneaten because all we really wanted was a taste. Like someone said earlier in the week....three bites is enough. And then we went to the movies and I didn't have my usual popcorn especially now that I've learned it's 700 calories even if you don't put butter on it.

All in all, I think it was a very successful outing for me. Good food, good company, good movie and NO GUILT!!!!
